The first stage of Makinsk Poultry Farm consists of nine production sites, including: the hatchery, four broiler houses (twelve poultry yards each), poultry processing plant, compost production line, auxiliary production site (litter production workshop), and the feedstuffs shop. To date, the hatchery has been already put into operation with the first setting of more than 300,000 eggs time on September 2nd this year. Other objects of the first stage will be started up in phases towards the end of 2018.
After commissioning of the second stage with the similar production capacity (25,000 tons of poultry meat per year), scheduled for the second half of 2020, Makinsk Poultry Farm will become the largest producer of poultry meat in the Central Asian Region with a processing capacity of up to 9,000 broilers per hour. The main product that the poultry farm will produce is chilled broiler meat. Once the second stage is launched, the capacity of the enterprise will allow meeting at least 15% of the overall domestic market demand in poultry meat (the consumption of chicken meat in the country in 2017 amounted to 341,000 tons), thus reducing the share of import to 32.6% from the current 50.4%.
The CEO and founder of Aitas KZ, Mr. Serik Tolukpayev outlined the mid-term development prospects of the Project: "Makinsk Poultry Farm is a benchmark for the world poultry farming. I know that equipment suppliers will bring their potential customers to show how this system works. Indeed, the best equipment and the best practices."
He also added that according to the strategic plan there would be the third stage of Makinsk Poultry Farm with the increased production capacity of 100,000 tons of poultry meat per year by 2023. To that end, additional 100 million US dollars will be invested. In the medium-term, the company also considers the subsequent IPO launch.
Makinsk Poultry Farm focuses at the markets of Akmola, North Kazakhstan, Kostanay and Karaganda regions, and, above all, at the cities of Astana and Karaganda, wh ere they plan to be selling out up to 60% of all chicken meat produced.
Buildings and facilities which are planned to be located within the territory of the poultry farm will be spreading across the total area of 227,366.88 square meters. In order to comply with the biological safety requirements and be an eco-friendly production, the company will use high-tech energy-saving equipment during hatching, slaughter, and production of the meat-and-bone meal.
